Wet Dreams Become Nightmares: Now Holm Falls To Shevchenko

UFC Shevchenko Holm 1

Already in some discomfort, turned rudely on its head by the defeat of Ronda Rousey last November, over the past couple of weeks the throbbing organ of popular interest in the UFC Women’s Bantamweight division has succumbed to what can only be described as blunt force trauma.

First Miesha Tate was dismantled in the first round of her first title defence by Amanda Nunes, in the headline bout at UFC 200. The UFC Women’s Bantamweight division, for the third time in three successive fights, had found a new champion. Now Holly Holm – who beat Rousey at UFC 193 before dropping the title to Tate at UFC 196 in March – has suffered another defeat at the hands of Valentina Shevchenko.

Rousey, Holm, and Tate were all-Americans who could make the body pop with their brutal skills inside of the octagon, and the trousers bulge as popular opinion determined all three more or less physically attractive. But Amanda Nunes is a buff Brazilian lesbian and Valentina Shevchenko is from Kyrgyzstan, which for the average UFC fan makes her for all intents and purposes Russian.

‘I can’t fap to this!’ muttered Dana White, taking time off the stump having vouched for Donald Trump earlier in the week at the Republican national convention. But with his bald head always thrusting for a commercial opportunity, he will surely be eager for a Rousey return by early 2017 at the latest.

Her future in the sport remains uncertain, especially after recently undergoing knee surgery. But a big comeback could see her challenge for the title which, until now, only she has proven capable of defending, or she could even face Cris Cyborg in a hotly anticipated contest at featherweight. That’s not code for a pillow fight, but either way, prepare the hankies!
